Truth and Insight About Diabetes

Did you know that more than 34,000 Bahamians suffer from diabetes and more than 100 million Americans? Not to mention that 415 million people worldwide. The forecast is that 642 million people will have diabetes by the year 2040… EXCESSIVE RIGHT?

Don’t panic, diabetes is a disease that people like Mr. McPhee and so many others New Life clients manage to get rid of with dietary changes, natural tonics and exercise.

Some of the major effects when you have a diet with excess sugar are:

  • Heart attacks
  • Strokes
  • Arteries became tense
  • Greater risk of brain shrinkage and dementia
  • Heart disease
  • More risk of getting Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Thyroid dysfunction
  • Obesity
  • Fibroids
  • Impotency

So, let’s talk about some of the solutions:

*LESS SUGAR INTAKE!* Humans should not be consuming more than 6-10 teaspoons of sugar daily, which should come from natural fruits and carbohydrates.  There are some alternatives that can be good to transition such as coconut palm sugar that has a low glycemic index and raw volcanic agave, which is safer for most diabetic patients because of the low glycemic index.

*ADOPT A PLANT-BASED DIET!* This is ideal because it supports cardiovascular health and is higher in fiber. High fiber foods take longer to digest and affect sugar at a slower rate avoiding spiked sugar levels.

*ADD A GOOD OIL TO YOUR DIET!* One of my favorites is coconut oil because it aids with diabetes, balance hormones are good for digestion, weight loss and it is known to be good for your overall health. Other oils like hemp oil and black seed oil are also great for overall health.

*EXERCISE!* Nothing can replace exercise. Walking for 15-30 minutes daily can make a huge difference in your overall health.
